Winter Brick Houses

Through the generous support of friends, our Fund was able to help build a number of winter brick houses for the poorest Tibetan families in the Dari County of Guoluo Prefectures in Qinghai Province. These families subsist on an annual income of RMB300 or less. The winter brick houses provide these families relief from having to survive the bitter sub-zero cold winter in makeshift tents.

Education and Vocational Training

In partnership with another charitable organization, our Fund co-sponsored a biobakery and cafe for vocational training for the blind orphans in Tibet. Because of the harsh weather and sub-standard hygienic conditions, more Tibetans suffer from visual impairment than the national average in China.

The Tibetan Children Health Centre Project

One of our Fund's Board Members, Dr David Leung, is the Project Co-ordinator for this project. For the past few years, Dr Leung and a group of health practitioners endeavored to render medical assistance and care to people living in impoverished areas. Located on a high plateau, Tibet is confronted with environmental and geographical difficulties in addition to under-developed economy. People are often unable to meet their basic needs and the children are in lack of basic medical care and education.

It is the aim of the Tibetan Children Health Centre to provide basic health check-ups for children under the age of 12. These children will be given eyes, ears, nose, mouth and physical fitness check-ups. Facilities and the scope of the services will be broadened according to the local needs and demands.
